Hi, my name is Jocelyn Echeverria. From September through May, I will be interning at Mckenzie School in East Rutherford, and I like to think of myself as a "teacher's assistant." Working with diverse students has been eye-opening for me; there is never a dull moment! Each day spent in the classroom only confirms my dream of becoming an Elementary teacher. In this blog I'll be sharing my experience as "Miss. E."

Read Across America Week!
This week was above all, the most exciting week for students, teachers, and even parents! To begin some days this week, the students and staff had to wear shirts with words on them in honor of Read Across America. Also on the same day the Kindergarten classes all gathered out in the hall to have ten minutes of reading, and throughout this whole week the parents of the students were allowed to read to the students! Each day of the week had its own tiny festivities from creating Cat and the Hat paper hats to actually seeing Cat and the Hat in person. Every event that took place kept the students entertained and moreover, intrigued to read a little more!
